Story

Kiltwalk 2019 - I will be undertaking the Kilt Walk from Glasgow Green to Balloch this year in aid of PPWH. On the 21st-22nd of June 2019, a group of 16 will undertake the 3 peaks challenge in aid of PPWH and Cancer Research UK. We will be self-funding our trip in terms of transport and accommodation, so 100% of money raised will go to charity. We would immensely appreciate your support in this physically and mentally challenging activity. The 3 peaks challenge is simple, but incredibly challenging; participants must climb the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales (Ben Nevis, Scaffel Pike and Mount Snowdon) within 24 hours, including all travel time between the mountains. The hike is 23-miles in three stages, with a total ascent of 3064 metres, and driving distance of 462 miles. We have been training hard, though are anticipating a rather hellish 24 hours, and are looking forward to raising as much as possible for such an important cause. I am completing these challenges in loving memory of my Grandpa, Duncan Robertson, who we are so grateful was able to spend time in the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow where he was extremely well taken care of, and the family shown immense support.

23-mile Kilt Walk

1st May 2019
On Sunday 31st April I completed the 23-mile Glasgow KiltWalk, as training for the 3 peaks challenge. The walk began in Glasgow Green, and finished in Moss O'Balloch. We managed to complete the walk in 7 hours and 4 mins - I am very happy with this time given the advised completion time is 6-10 hours. Thank you for your support! Raising money for PPWH is a huge incentive and motivation to keep going when these challenges get difficult.
